      IMS Concepts

      Course Abstract: This course is designed for the general audience requiring a high-level understanding of IMS architecture and processing capabilities. IMS full function databases, data communications and Fast Path are presented.

      Duration: 1 day

      Primary Audience: Individuals who require a high level understanding of IMS; application development staff supporting IMS applications.

      Prerequisites: None

      Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to:

      • Explain the advantages of using a database system
      • Describe how IMS data communications processes messages and schedules transactions
      • Explain forward and backward recovery

      Class Format: Lecture and group discussion.

      Cost: In-house: $1,700 for up to 15 students; $100 for each additional student.
