OTMA & IMS Connect
Course Abstract: This course explains how OTMA and IMS Connect work, how to set it up and how to change the working via exits.
Duration: 4 days
Primary Audience: IMS system programmers who are responsible for the TCP/IP Attachment to IMS
Prerequisites: Before taking this course, you should take IMS System Programming and Administration, or have the equivalent knowledge in each of these areas:
- IMS systems programming concepts
- Familiarity with the IMS environment (online, batch, and database utilities)
- Working knowledge of your installation's IMS system
- Background in the administration of the IMS system
- Familiarity with MVS control programs
- Understand assembler language.
Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to:
- Describe OTMA
- Explain XCF and the associated macros
- Describe what is needed for OTMA headers and what can be done with them
- Secure your OTMA environment
- Modify the OTMA exits
- Describe IMS Connect
- Set up IMS Connect (Proclib members, Parameters, etc.).
- Modify and install IMS Connect Exits
